Quality Control/Quality Assurance

qualitycontrol

From the moment a chemical arrives to the time it is shipped to a member, it in monitored by Quality Control and Quality Assurance personnel. PCCA member pharmacists require unformulated chemicals of the highest quality. PCCA in turn meets their needs by providing access to materials including: USP and NF grade chemicals; more than 30 proprietary bases ranging from BHRT to skin rejuvenation to veterinary applications; steroids and BHRT products; and pain management chemicals; equipment; and devices.

PCCA’s first objective is to obtain chemicals from vendors who are FDA-registered and follow Good Manufacturing Procedures.

Once a chemical is sourced, PCCA’s Quality Control & Assurance team becomes the most essential department within our organization. PCCA is exhaustively devoted to assuring the quality of the chemicals received, repackaged and sold to members. From the moment a chemical arrives, to the time it is shipped to a pharmacist, it is monitored tirelessly by QC&A personnel.

 Steps include:

  • Verifying the identity of every bulk chemical received
  • Conducting regular testing of all chemicals received
  • Requesting a Certificate of Analysis for all chemicals received
  • Completing a second identity test on prepackaged chemicals
  • Verifying all unique identifier numbers prior to shipping

All chemicals received by PCCA are quarantined until their identity is verified in PCCA’s Quality Control Lab, completing tests such as Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy, ultraviolet-visible analysis, melting point, specific gravity, solubility and chemical identifications.
