HOUSTON, Texas – February 15, 2024 – PCCA USA, PCCA Canada and affiliate company Eagle recently named three outstanding individuals as their 2023 Team Members of the Year. Leticia Llanes, PCCA Accounts Receivable Clerk, was named 2023 PCCA USA Kay Sparks Team Member of the Year; Krista Dempsey, PCCA Canada Events Manager, was named 2023 PCCA Canada Team Member of the Year; and Terreal Hunter, Eagle Inventory Specialist, was named 2023 Eagle Employee of the Year.

PCCA President Jim Smith and PCCA Vice President of Public Affairs, Education and Human Relations Lizzie Harbin jointly presented the PCCA USA award to Llanes, and Eagle Vice President of Marketing and Business Development Lisa Johnson presented the Eagle award to Hunter, on Saturday, January 22, during the companies’ annual New Year celebration. PCCA Canada General Manager Amanda Cassel presented the PCCA Canada award to Dempsey at the Canada division’s holiday party on December 1, 2023.

Each year, nominees and final recipients of these awards are chosen by their respective teammates, based on who best exemplified the PCCA/Eagle Core Values and Principles in their daily actions throughout the year.

Prior to presenting the 2023 PCCA USA Kay Sparks Team Member of the Year award to Llanes, Smith acknowledged Kay Sparks, whom the award is named after, as a leader in the compounding industry and part of the PCCA family — both as a member and an employee — for more than 30 years. As PCCA’s compounding training course instructor for many years, Kay was known for her unparalleled attention to detail, dedication to teaching and service to others. She passed away in 2012.

From stage, Smith shared why Llanes is so deserving of the award: “Leticia is a true representation of all six of our Core Values and 28 Principles, but there are some specific areas where she really went above and beyond in 2023 — including her commitment to ‘Delivering Quality without Compromise,’ ‘Celebrating as a Family,’ and especially, ‘Caring Deeply,’ as exhibited last year when she personally drove a student, who had missed the bus, to their hotel after attending a PCCA training class. Her rapport with our customers is second to none.”

When announcing Hunter as the 2023 Eagle Employee of the Year, Johnson said, “Terreal, I am both honored and humbled to present this award to you! You are a good, hardworking and respectful person, and this award is well deserved.”

Cassel was equally enthusiastic when presenting the 2023 PCCA Canada Team Member of the Year award to Dempsey. “Krista has demonstrated the PCCA Core Value of ‘Have Each Others’ Backs’ more than ever this year in assuming the duties of two team members who were on maternity leave. While covering for her teammates, she also supported the completion of PCCA Canada’s training lab renovation, managed registration for the company’s trade show attendance, organized a successful in-person customer event in Calgary and worked behind the scenes to ensure internal events are special for team members.”

“Congratulations to all three of our very deserving award recipients,” said Smith. “Our success as a company is driven by our people. We are proud to have these dedicated individuals as a part of our PCCA family.”
