Meet Your Patients’ Needs, No Matter What They Are
PCCA now offers reusable troche molds that are ideal for patients who have trouble removing troches from traditional molds or who have other compliance issues. These flexible troche molds allow compounders to make as many or as few troches as they need, and then remove the troches and place them in blister packs, which may be easier for patients to use and may help with compliance. PCCA’s round blister packs, adhesive labels and blister-pack sleeves work well with these troches.
These molds are nonstick, so compounders do not need to coat the mold before pouring the troche preparation. The molds allow compounders to prepare up to 100 small troches at a time, and each cavity has two ridges that score the troche, helping compounders or patients who need to cut them into halves or fourths. We recommend using a knife or hard spatula when doing so.
The ideal base to use with these molds is NataTroche®. We have developed general troche formulas and specific formulas that use NataTroche and these reusable molds. PCCA’s Polyglycol Troche™ base is another option for which we have developed formulas. However, we do not recommend using our gelatin troche base with these molds.
