The SporAmpule® Biological Indicator (BI) validates a volume of solution in the autoclave by being placed into the center of the volume of liquid. This will confirm that the “slowest to heat zone,” or the center of the solution, reached 121° C, not just the inside of the autoclave chamber. Results also are monitored by a change in color after 48 hours of incubation.
